The road to a faster PC starts by properly optimising your hardware. While some of these procedures can be risky, they can also prove very effective, often delivering direct and noticeable performance gains in every area of your system.

1. Update the BIOS

Upgrading your PC’s BIOS, or firmware in other devices like the router, could be a quick way to improve performance, fix bugs and even add new features. 1. Pick Your Edition. Most business users do not need the more expensive Ultimate Edition; stick with Professional unless you specifically need Bit Locker.

2. Upgrading? Go 64-bit. As the second major Windows release to fully support 64-bit, the x64 architecture has definitely arrived on the desktop. Don’t buy new 32-bit hardware unless it’s a notebook.

Install any editions of Windows 7 from a single DVD

All DVD s of Windows 7 contains all editions of it and its is possible to install any edition with a single DVD. The selection of OS include Windows 7 Starter, Windows 7 Home Basic, Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Professional and Windows 7 Ultimate. Actually this ability is just restricted by a small single configuration file called ei.cfg ( may be absent in modded editions).
